Episode 103 - The History of Swear Words Eps 5&6: Damn That P*ssy

This week, the CHUDs are talking about the last 2 episodes in Netflix's 'History of Swear Words', covering the words 'p*ssy' and 'damn'. Mostly, they go off on tangents and we find out why Linda and Donnie are so fuggin weird (Hint: it's another cousin story).

Episode 102 - The History of Swear Words Eps 3&4: Well Hung For Primates

Listen to this bitch put up with these 2 dicks. This week, we’ve got Big Nic Energy! Also, we become dick wizards. We’re covering the History of Swear Words, episodes 3 and 4, ‘Bitch’ and ‘Dick’.

We feel that the new Netflix show doesn’t properly cover the actual history of swear words, so we give a shout-out to our friends who do a great job covering the history of words and phrases - Origin of Speakcies.

We’re celebrating Cagemas Day (our sweet baby boi’s birthday) and our 100th episode! Less exciting, we watched The Croods: A New Age. Donnie and Linda found it entertaining (though, not without its problems) while Adrian (as expected) hated everything about it.

Join us as we discuss the movie and take a moment to thank some patrons and friends.

Episode 98 - Our Predictions for The Croods 2: Druid Kommander

Hey there, CHUDs! We realized that we covered The Croods before we started our Sequel Return More Harder segment. So, this week we’re discussing our (probably very accurate) predictions for what we should expect to see in The Croods 2: A New Age.

Also, we discuss what we would like to see from Nicolas Cage in 2021 and we come up with a masterpiece starring Weston: ‘Druid Kommander.’

Finally, is it just me? Or was Cage putting the OI in FOIN in the trailers for ‘The History of Swear Words?’

There are SO many trigger warnings for this episode, I can’t even begin. So sorry.

Episode 97 - Jiu Jitsu with Len Kabasinski!!!

This week the gang goes through the fargate to witness mortal kombat with the aid of our guide and celebrity guest - the one-and-only Len Kabasinski! At one point, Linda and Donnie say they didn’t realize it took place in the 80’s, to which Adrian complained that there’s an on-screen message saying, ‘1988,’ but this aint the big city! We can’t read!

Fire the nuclear weapons!

Episode 95: Primal (w/Kiara Williams and an Elba Bird-Man)

Apologies for the sound quality and my coughing, but this may be our best episode to date! Donnie and I (Linda) are joined by Kiara Williams! We set out to just discuss Cage’s 2019 movie, ‘Primal,’ but we ended up fixing it and creating an amazing franchise of nightmare fuel! Also, Kiara was kind enough to teach us about Canadian culture in hopes to end the syrup wars.

We left an extra bit at the end since the laughs didn't stop.

So, there’s a lot of discussion about sexual assault and a cat is murdered in the movie. Unless you think it would trigger be triggering, we advise listening to our episode - not watching the movie.

In what could possibly be our most uncomfortable episode yet (sorry) we cover this god-awful movie and two waaaaay better movie ideas: ‘Rape Cop’ and ‘Rape Wolf.’ Again…sorry.

Christian was so great in our ‘Kick Ass’ episode we had to have him back for more! And now we have to pay for his therapy from having to watch this movie. (btw, have I told you about our Patreon page?) Oh, yeah! We watched ‘Arsenal’ this week! For some reason John Cusack is in this, as the white cop wearing a durag who’s absolutely terrible at his job. Christian put it best when he said ‘Arsenal’ is like if 2020 were a movie and we agree! Don’t worry, we watched and reviewed this film so you don’t have to!

Episode 25: Kiss of Death

“I needed to get back to the other kind of work that I like to do.” Nic Cage turns into a big big beef boy for his role as Little Junior Brown in the first movie in David Caruso’s failed attempt at a film career. Join us as we discuss how Michael Rapaport lost part of his ear, how Cage turned into a super beef boy, how the movie compares to the original from 1947, and much more!

Episode 24: Trapped in Paradise

Jon Lovitz, Dana Carvey, and Nic Cage in one movie? How could it possibly go wrong? Answer: George Gallo “directed” it. Listen in and find out why Jon Lovitz called this movie “Trapped in Shit.” There was no real direction from Gallo. So, you know we’re going to get some Cagey goodness.

Settle down, little ones, and call us Daaaaaad.

Episode 23: It Could Happen to You

A terrible husband promises a waitress half the winnings of a lottery ticket as a tip, falls in love with said waitress, and shirtless Stanley Tucci shows up! It could happen to you.

This week, we’re covering the 1994 film, It Could Happen to You, starring Bridget Fonda, Rosie Perez, Isaac Hayes, and The National Treasure. This episode features our first guest, French artist/international sensation, Lucile Hachin!

“A promise is a promise.”

Episode 22: Guarding Tess

It’s not Clear and Present Danger. It’s not Anal Grandmas 9. No, it’s Guarding Tess, which stars our National Treasure, Nicolas Cage, and our other National Treasure, Miss Shirley MacLaine. It also features Richard Griffiths who was Uncle Monty in Withnail and I and Uncle Vernon in Harry Potter! That being said, it’s a Nic Cage film. So, buckle in and sit in the goddamn chair!

Episode 21: Deadfall

Get ready for FULL. UNBRIDLED. CAGE. Deadfall was directed by Nic’s brother, Christopher Coppola, which gave our National Treasure the chance to go crazy and give us everything he’s got…and he did. If you think that Vampire’s Kiss is insane, wait until you check out Deadfall, BOOOIIIEEEEEE! Oh, yeah, Angus Scrimm is in this.

Episode 20: Red Rock West

“Look at that uncontrolled response to bullshit.” We hate it when that happens! Yes, this week, we’re covering Red Rock West, where Nic Cage plays a drifter who gets himself in a pickle when he’s mistaken for a hitman and paid to kill Lara Flynn Boyle. When the real hitman, Dennis Hopper, shows up, hi-jinx ensue. Also, Dwight Yoakam is there!

Episode 19: Amos & Andrew

This week, we're discussing Amos & Andrew - a film that tries to tackle issues of classism and racism with comedy and (despite the amazing cast) fails pretty hard.

Our recommendation: Skip this movie. Instead, watch The Toy with Richard Pryor and listen to our episode. Also, dig the original artwork by our A.A. Smith.

Episode 18: Honeymoon in Vegas

It's the classic tale of boy meets girl, boy loses girl to James Caan, boy dresses up as Elvis and jumps out of a plane, but this one has Nicolas Cage and Sarah Jessica Parker! Elvises, light your fires! This week, we're covering Honeymoon in Vegas!

Episode 17: Zandalee

“I think you can almost have sex by just looking into someone’s eyes. I like being able to look into a woman’s eyes and feel as if I could crawl off the edge of the universe. Love is a necessity.” - Nic Cage

In this episode, we talk about the proto- version of The Room, Zandalee, featuring Nicolas Cage as a junkie Captain Morgan. Also, there was another attack by the Weasels of Fate. RIP Adrian Smith.

Episode 16: Industrial Symphony No 1 - Dream of the Brokenhearted

"At 4 I used to have this terrible nightmare that I was on the toilet and this giant blonde genie woman in a gold bikini would reach into the bathroom window like King Kong and pluck me off the toilet seat and laugh at me." - Nic Cage

This week, we're reviewing the experimental concert with music by David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti, sang by Julee Cruise. Caution: we're mostly going on tangents. RIP Andre Badalamenti.

Episode 15: Fire Birds

"I needed the money. I admit it. I was not being true to my instincts, but I felt like I wanted to do a role which was this straight American character.” -Nicolas Cage

Join us this week, as we fly off near a zone of danger, and land in a 90's Cage film called Fire Birds. A movie that both feels like a Lifetime movie, and with a runtime of a literal Lifetime.

Episode 14: Wild at Heart

"David Lynch's movies are more real than Spielberg's - they're inside reality. I think dreams are gifts so I try to find a film that will do those things, whether it's a dream state or just being insane." - Nicolas Cage

Cover yourself in lipstick and blast POWERMAD! We're covering Wild at Heart this week!

Episode 13: Never on Tuesday and Time to Kill

Trigger Warning: Lots and lots o' rape and two movies you should never watch.

Never on Tuesday is the epitome of everything wrong with zany 80's indie comedies where two guys cause an accident and spend the next couple days trying to sleep with (and convert) a lesbian.

Time to Kill is the epitome of everything that's wrong with 80's Italian Cage films where he plays a soldier in Mussolini's Army that decides to rape a native woman and may or may not be on his way to a horrible death. Speaking of horrible death, we totally watched these movies a couple times so you won't have to. If you know a good psychoanalyst, please direct them to our website or Patreon.

Episode 12: Vampire’s Kiss

It's finally here - Cage's first full-on Cage movie...the meme factory that is Vampire's Kiss! Jennifer Beals, Kasi Lemmons, and Maria Conchita Alonso pool their powers together to make this movie more watchable.

Put on your fake fangs and fashion yourself a stake, we're doing this! The complete unhinged Cage.

Have a wonderful life together and we will take care of the cops.

Episode 11: Moonstruck

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie...that's Moonstruck, apparently. Would this movie have been better as a horror movie? Would it be better with more Cage? Is Linda really alive? Join us as we discuss the important questions.

In honor of our friends at Drinkipedia, Donnie decided to take a shot at every mention of "Cage." Listen to find out if he survived.

Episode 10: Tales From the Cage - Courting Cage

"Love can do more damage than anger if it goes wrong. Anger passes quickly. Love, when unrequited or ignored, is devastating. However, if it is received and returned, it's a magnifying glass to everything that is beautiful in the world." - Nicolas Cage

In a very special episode of Cage's Kiss, we discuss Cage's quest and courtship for his first (and best?) wife, Patricia Arquette.

Episode 9: Raising Arizona

Give me that baby! I want that baby!

That’s, right! Put your panty on your head and make sure your gun isn’t loaded. We’re talking about one of the greatest movies of all time: Raising Arizona! Nicolas Cage, Holly Hunter, John Goodman, William Forsythe?! This is the perfect cast!

Linda talks about how amazing Dr. Lynne Kitei is while also misspelling her name. She also shares her Cagey nightmares. Seriously, send help.

Episode 8: Peggy Sue Got Married

A lot of podcasts post a "prank" episode on April Fool's Day and we, the listeners cringe and try to struggle through it. We won't be doing that to you - although it would have been a great opportunity to start our Bosom Buddies cast.

Instead, we discuss Peggy Sue Got Married which stars Kathleen Turner (aka Scum Queen) as Peggy and the national treasure as Pokey from Gumby. We discuss how amazing they both are and Jim Carrey is there too (in the movie, not guesting on our show). Would this have been better with the Gutz?

Episode 7: The Boy in Blue

Grease up your bum and rip off your shirt! We're talking about the Merry Misadventures of Ned Hanlan, otherwise known as The Boy in Blue. It's a whimsical biopic on the Canadian sculling legend Ned Hanlan.

Linda's laptop screamed and died toward the end of the episode. So, there's a blissful moment of time without her. Also, we'd like to take a moment to apologize for Donnie.

Episode 6: Birdy

BIRRR-DEEEE! Is it furry? Is it species dysphoria? Is it good? One thing's for sure, there is no Modine Peen.

Just a warning: Linda's a moron and had her audio recording from her laptop microphone, rather than her professional microphone. I hope you like snippets of bad audio and coughing!

Episode 5: The Cotton Club

"Too many white people and too much coke" - a good descriptor of this movie and our podcast. Listen in as we discuss the film that made The National Treasure trash his trailer and miss the opportunity to star in multiple movies. Don't forget to pour one out for Bob Hoskins and Fred Gwynne. gg, guys.

Episode 4: Racing With the Moon

Trigger Warning: Abortion is discussed as it’s part of the story and rape is mentioned as we go on a Saturday Night Fever tangent.

Penn and Cage shenanigans! Penn buns, Cora Crawley’s boobies, and Carol Kane! What’s not to love? Join us as we discuss why you should get an eagle tattooed on your chest right over your heart…or maybe a snake coming out of your navel.

Also, we may be the only podcast that can tell you where to find Dana Carvey in this movie.

OOOH, WOWEEE!

Episode 3: Rumble Fish

Hey there, Rusty James! It’s time for a good ol’ fashioned rumble! Join us as we talk about the National Treasure’s 4th adventure as Smokey in Rumble Fish. We also discuss the legends of Dennis Hopper, Chris Penn, and Burt Reynolds (who should have been in this film); our future podcast, Bosom Buddies; and the similarities to The Room.

Episode 2: Valley Girl

Trigger Warning: Date rape is discussed in this episode, as it is a part of the movie and a part of Coolidge’s story.

In this episode, we discuss one of Kevin Smith’s favorite movies, which is loosely based on Romeo and Juliet, Valley Girl. Was Randy a dream boyfriend or a stalker? Were Loryn and Fred the only REAL friends? Was Julie’s doll inhabited by a demon and about to unleash the fury of the nine realms of hell? What the hell can we learn from Randy? Listen in as we attempt to answer all these questions and more.

Just another heads-up: We were all snowed-in while recording and experienced connection issues as well as a loud snowplow. There are lag issues in the first 12-minutes of the episode and some snowplow realness in the background.

Episode 1: Best of Times and Fast Times at Ridgemont High

In this, our first episode, we review the history of the National Treasure, discuss his first two masterpieces (Best of Times and Fast Times at Ridgemont High), and share some Cagey Wisdom with a listener named “Mom.”

Episode 0: Intro

Buckle in, this is going to be an interesting ride. Join us, because having nightmares alone isn’t as fun.
